Rider profile: John Scheidhauer
Background:
John is 38 and father of one 14 year old girl. He lives with his wife of 20 years and daughter in Brighton TN. An auto technician by trade, he owns an independent BMW repair shop. When not riding his bike he likes to run and coaches a youth track team. As is the case with many cyclist John has ridden for years and started at age 10 racing BMX. From there it was on to motorcycles where he raced off-road in Hare Scrambles and Enduro events. In 1994 John qualified for the International 6 Days Enduro in Tulsa OK. With nearly a thousand riders from countries all over the world John earned a Bronze medal in his category.
Race history:
After a brief stint in the beginner class in 1995 John moved on to the Sport class where he was a regular top 3 finisher. In 1997 he moved to the Expert class and worked his way up to finish local races in the top 3. John’s favorite quote is "When I get the engine to go with my technical abilities watch out!" and that’s beginning to show in his race results. He hopes to dominate the Mid-south Vet Expert division this year as well as compete in local running and multi-sport events.
